okay but when you have holocaust survivors and people who were activists during the civil rights movement supporting mike brown and then KKK members and neo nazi’s supporting the officer you should be able to figure out which side is the right one.

So today in Feurgeson the cops said people could protest but they can’t congregate. They had to keep moving, like march. This is denying the right to assemble. Black people weren’t allowed to form crowds in this country. Literally Jim Crow. Not New Jim Crow, just Jim Crow. Shit never went away

Black people haven’t been able to assembled legally into 5 persons or more since slavery.

The community in Ferguson is struggling to come up with the money to keep their kids fed, since school has been cancelled all this time, yet people have donated over $12,000 to the murderer who started all of this in the last 24 hours alone. Think about that. And then donate to the right cause.

mdthwomp:

Unfriendly reminder that in America it’s reasonable to say an unarmed black kid deserved to be shot six times because he might have robbed a convenience store, but a white kid shouldn’t be kicked off the high school football team just because he violently raped a girl.

Who are you getting your Ferguson information from? I'm having problems verifying what's actually happening!

That’s actually what’s taking me so long to update some of my posts; not only is the information surfacing slowly about his case specifically, but I make sure to cross reference at least three sources because some people are just blatantly lying to stir shit up.

Also live feeds keep going down and new ones pop back up but I know some of you are sensitive to video, so

Here’s a list of some twitter handles:

Journalists (All of these are either on the ground in Ferguson as I type this or actively covering events in Ferguson, both Brown’s case and the rallies):

Residents/Legislature/Other:

Instagram Accounts: (TW: Some of these accounts feature graphic video or images of Ferguson events)

Tumblr Accounts:

I’m sure I forgot a bunch but here’s a start. I’ll update it periodically and reblog. Some of it is compilations from a bunch of sources, some is original content. Disclaimer: I’m not vouching for any other content on any of these blogs/twitters/instagrams or any that may be posted after this list but as of right now, the information regarding Ferguson and discussions taking place about the rallies/police and Mike Brown’s death seems accurate.

if you want to be included on any of these lists, shoot me a message with your web-address and I’ll check it out

You will find everything I’ve posted under tagged/ferguson, tagged/police-brutality or tagged/michael-brown

updated and combined.

I’m only sharing tweets for those who are not on twitter and can’t see how passionate and outraged journalists are as they tweet from #Ferguson.

If you are on Twitter, here’s a good roster of people to follow if you want to keep updated.

Do not wear contact lenses if you are in a situation where you may be tear-gassed.  When I went through basic training, we were warned that there was a possibility the tear gas they were using could melt contact lenses.

BOOOOOOOOOOOST!!!!!!!!!!

That’s insane, please be careful y’all

7 Rules for Recording Police

reichsstadt:

This is from 2012, but it’s increasingly relevant, as we’ve seen police officers turn on those documenting violence and brutality.

The law varies from state to state. Remember that a camera signals a degree of invasion, no matter one’s intent, so it’s important to be prepared in case one’s decision to film a police officer goes sour. Knowing the law is part of protesting, but also part of staying safe.
